Won Yiel Lee, along with three other defendants, was indicted on March 19, 2008 for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, in violation of Title 21 U.S.C. §§ 841(a)(1) & 846.
On April 15, 2008, Defendant Won Yiel Lee pled guilty to the charge of conspiracy to distribute more than 50 grams net weight of methamphetamine.
In April 2009, Lee failed to appear for his sentencing. A warrant of arrest was issued and Lee was picked up in June 2011 in Los Angeles and brought back to Guam for sentencing.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Karon V. Johnson prosecuted this Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) case for the government.
Defendant Won Yiel Lee is the last of the defendants to be sentenced in this DEA-led four-year investigation entitled Seoul Train. Credit is also given to the Guam Customs and Quarantine Agency and the Guam Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
