He said they’ve been coordinating with the Department of Public Works in the construction of the project whose third phase will be completed in April.
Public Works Secretary Martin Sablan earlier said the traffic light will be installed at the intersection of Beach Road and Tun Segudo St.
The leadership memorial courtyard committee headed by former Rep. Ana S. Teregeyo said phase III of the memorial project includes the gateway, sidewalks, landscaping, memorial plaque, flagpoles and other facilities.
The construction started on Nov. 23.
Ramon B. Camacho, Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council chairman, said he is working closely with the Division of Forestry for the landscaping and soil filling materials needed for the project.
Camacho, who is also parole board chairman, said parolees may be asked to work on the project.
The courtyard, also known as the Kios Ku project, is the first leadership memorial park to be constructed in the CNMI. It aims to recognize the contributions of past and present leaders of the islands.
