RBC 670 easily claimed the second game on a 53-24 win versus RBC 2, while Proa clobbered Kunoichi’s all-female squad, 60-32 at the Gillette Multipurpose Gymnasium.
RBC 2’s younger players barely stood a chance on the court, scoring only eight points during the first quarter.
Emerson Feria led in the opening minutes, landing a layup and blasting back-to-back shots to score eight of the RBC 670’s 17 points. The dominant and slightly older Rollers cleared 13 more points eight minutes later, allowing only four from RBC 2, which mustered two free throws from John Cano and Melvin and a basket from lone female player Keolani Rios.
RBC 670 stole away on a 41-20 lead by the third quarter with Feria scoring two more shots for a 12 point total. William Camacho, who had earlier missed near the free throw line, added six more points.
RBC 670’s 12-man crew had no problems keeping the pace as Jeron Ano and Alcor Admana garnered six more points before the last buzzer.
RBC 2, whose defense stood no chance against Camacho, tallied only 12 points in the second half alone.
During the first game, the Karlo De Leon and Jacob Palacios-driven Proa clinched their finals seat despite Nicole Arborilas’ 11-point shooting spree in the fourth period.
Kunoichi originally took off on a 3-9 lead but dropped to Proa’s steadfast offense by the second quarter. De Leon stepped in for the kill and went untouched for the basket to score six of his 10 points.
Arborilas posted 17 of Kunoichi’s 19 points in the second half, with the other two coming from varsity player Jaime Mendoza.
Palacios sealed Proa’s finals bid on an eight-point rally, extending an already huge 20 point gap between both squads.
RBC 670 and Proa’s championship match is scheduled today after a consolation game between RBC 2 and Kunoichi at 4:30 p.m.
