CPUC to have own website

CPUC Chairwoman Viola Alepuyo said one website developer already responded to their requests for proposal.

“That’s number one priority for me,” she said.

Before her term ends in March 2012, Alepuyo said she will  complete this task.

This November, she said they will finalize the contract for the construction of the website.

“I’ve been trying to establish a website so that people can just go in,” she said.

At present, old petitions, communications and other documents can be accessed on the Saipan Chamber of Commerce website, www.saipanchamber.com.

For fiscal year 2012, the commission is getting a $193,000 budget, and $2,500 of this is amount allocated for the website project, Alepuyo said.

The $193,000 is for the commission’s administrative cost and the funding is from the charges paid by the regulated entities.

Alepuyo said the commission is getting  regulation fees from IT&E as well as from the power, water and waste water utilities of the Commonwealth Utilities Corp.
