The Saipan Major League Baseball Association, which was invited to the event, will conduct tryouts for eligible players. The SML will also select players from its Summer Youth Baseball League.
The tournament, backed by the Baseball Confederation of Oceania, will include five other teams: Australia, New Zealand, American Samoa, Palau, and Guam.
Only players 18 years old or below are qualified to compete. Players turning 19 this year are not qualified.
According to the Guam Major League’s official website, the tournament’s actual date is yet to be confirmed.
