“The program not only enhances the tourism industry but it also helps local residents,” Flores added.
His executive secretary, Vinycia Seman, said the students will be staying for two nights with their host families.
The students will pay $70 per day to the host families who will arrange all their activities for two days, including an island tour.
“The host families are very excited and some of them are planning to host barbeque picnics with the students,” Seman said.
The students will also learn about bead- and mwar-making and other traditional crafts.
The visiting students are expected to experience island lifestyle, culture, customs and languages and as well as engage in different activities, including visits to the Aging Center, local schools, American Memorial Park, and Managaha, Seman said.
The 86 students and 10 teachers from Excellent High School will arrive on Nov. 10 and leave on the 14th.
Their trip is being arranged and coordinated by the Saipan Business and Language Institute.
