Freddie Cataluna
FREDDIE Cataluna has joined the list of elite players in the Saipan Golf Association’s 2025 season after shooting a net of 67 to claim the April Ace of the Month title at LaoLao Bay Golf & Resort on Sunday, April 27.
Cataluna played well throughout the tournament.
The veteran golfer cleared the front nine with ease, leading the competition with a gross of 36. On the back nine, he slightly tweaked his swing and further solidified his lead with a gross of 35, for a total gross score of 71. With a handicap of 4, his net score was 67.
Cataluna did not claim the title without a fight, however, as Joe Crisostomo also notched a net score of 67.
However, Cataluna’s performance overshadowed Crisostomo’s, who shot a gross of 42 on the front nine and 43 on the back, and — with a handicap of 18 — had to settle for second place.
In third place was Tony Deleon Guerrero with a net score of 70.
As for the optional play, Cataluna dominated the Closest to the Pin challenge on holes #4, #6 and #15 while Joe Sablan reigned on hole #11. The Longest Drive winners were Philip Sablan on hole #2 and Edward Manibusan on hole #14.

Besides Cataluna, SGA’s 2025 Ace of the Month Winners so far are Larry Deleon Guerrero (January), Joe Sablan (February), and Mariano Fajardo (March).
