According to director of Asia/Pacific communications for United/Continental Airlines Koji Nagata, “Continental Airlines will operate roundtrip flights between Guam’s A.B. Won Pat International Airport and Saipan Airport on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011 with flight CO1950 departing GUM at 2:30 a.m. and arriving SPN at 3:30 a.m. as well flight CO1951 departing SPN at 4:30 a.m. and arriving GUM at 5:30 a.m.”
Nagata said the decision was made following Continental Connection partner Cape Air’s cancellation of flights on Monday. Continental Airlines will operate the flights using Boeing 737 next-generation aircraft.
“We encourage affected customers to contact Continental Airlines’ reservation office to amend their reservations and secure travel plans on one of the subject flights or other available flights,” Nagata said.
Cape Air cancelled its flights on Monday due to “mechanical problems” and it was uncertain if it could operate due to ongoing repairs to its aircraft.
