The survey also asks if a nonresident is an abused spouse of a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
Jun Concillado, United Workers Movement vice president, said they support the survey and will distribute copies of it at their vigil campsite outside the USCIS office on Beach Board, Garapan.
The survey, which was initiated by Filipino community members, does not ask respondents to give their names, addresses or contact numbers.
The survey is “for those who may need help regarding their immigration status, whether it is for you, a friend or a relative.”
Respondents are advised to drop the filled out form into a box at KWAW radio station, Marianas Business Plaza, on or before Nov. 20, 2011.
Rabby Syed, United Workers Movement president, said the survey will help lawyers understand the situation of the nonresident workers in the CNMI.
“This survey is very helpful especially to those who will be out of status by Nov. 27,” he added, referring to the expiration date of the umbrella permits.
Syed said he will find ways to allow the nonresident workers on Tinian and Rota to participate in the survey.
