WSR promotes, recognizes students

Also recognized were Math Court competitors including Mei Lin and Daniel Montano who received first prizes at the regional’s competition.

Laureto Pulito was presented with a plaque for 2011 State Trades and Maintenance Staff of the Year.

In related news, the WSR Student Council had been raising money for Japan relief funds for the past two months.

“By participating in the Japan Relief operation, we are showing the world that we are true Peace Builders, able to help others who are in need and by doing so, we hope to inspire others to do the same,” the council said.

The school was able to raise $600 which was presented to Japan Consul Tsutomu Higuchi at the ceremony yesterday.

The event was capped by a surprise entertainment including a talent show from students and a play from fifth graders about the making of the U.S. Constitution.
