Umali’s run-and-gun plays added 10 points to the Hotshots in the first half, along with nine of Jr Barrios’ 11 points. Junar Guiab mustered only one basket in the second quarter but returned with a six-point second half for an eight total.
The Hotshots took a four-point deficit going into the third quarter but relied on turnovers to switch the game around. Team captain Errol Peredo piled nine and Gino Libuw – scoring no baskets in the first three periods – earned 11 before the final buzzer.
Cellular Pro’s Eric Dulfo scored 14, Ogie Herrera hammered 10, and Dick Tibayan bagged nine.
The Hotshots ended strong with two jumpers from Dan Fernandez.
