Flores: Honor men and women in uniform now, not after they are dead

In his message during the 40th Founder’s Day celebration at the Hard Rock Café Saipan in Garapan on Tuesday, he commended the restaurant for designating a day to honor  military personnel, police officers, firefighters, medical technicians and all those whose jobs are to serve and protect the public.

“I can’t stress how we sometimes forget just how much they do for us when we see their police cars or fire trucks pass by. We must always remember that our servicemen and women deserve more credit than what has been given. They spend countless hours away from their families for others, and we shouldn’t wait until they lose their lives to honor them because they can’t feel our gratitude by then,” Flores said.

Hard Rock Café Saipan operations head Rey Perez said in celebration of the special tribute dubbed as “Guns & Hoses,” they gave out free food packs and discounts on some orders.

“We are thankful for the almost 30 men and women in uniform who took time and responded to our invitation to join us yesterday. Unfortunately, we cannot have them all here because most of them are on duty,” Perez said.

Perez said they were happy seeing public safety and military personnel enjoying moments of fun, games and contests before going back to their duty.

Hard Rock Café Saipan also donated food for the men and women  involved in the ongoing search for Faloma and Maleina Luhk, the two sisters who have been missing since May 25.
