Chelsea Football Club Soccer School (Hong Kong) Technical Director and soccer icon Leslie George Santos was among the group invited by newly formed Saipan Soccer School.
Joining him were fellow technical director Luam Khen Koo, Chelsea FC Soccer School head coach Kwok On David Tsui, Chelsea FC public relations officer Sue Sze.
The clinic, which started yesterday and ends tomorrow, started with 15-and-under division players from Matansa FC, Shirley’s FC, and Tan Holdings FC.
Their two-hour session consisted of unique drills not found on island.
The coaches will continue today and end with a coaching clinic tomorrow.
Saipan Soccer School vice president Ariel Mariano said that they expect a good turnout. Their activities are undertaken in cooperation with the Northern Marianas Islands Football Association.
Chelsea FC Soccer School (HK) originally branched off from England with the help of coaches from Santos Soccer Training Limited Hong Kong – an organization created by Leslie Santos in 2005.
According to its website, Chelsea FC Soccer School is operated by more than 10 Asian Football Confederation-qualified head and assistant coaches.
This week’s special clinic is part of the soccer school’s mission to provide “sporting opportunities through Chelsea FC’s football development program.”
