KES crushed fellow southern division team Oleai Elementary School, 10-0 in seven innings, with Veronie Babauta as their starting pitcher.
This will be the Umangs’ second straight championship win over the same school they faced last year.
“Oleai was tough but our girls wanted it more and they listened to their coaches,” Mendiola told Marianas Variety after the game.
The Umangs were also coached by Joe Epson, George Cruz, Jeremiah Benavente, and Lester Babauta.
Kobler Elementary scored five runs in the second inning and five more in the sixth to boil the Turtles down.
Both teams eliminated Tanapag Elementary and Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School in respective semis games.
KES capped the regular season with three wins and one loss, according to Mendiola. Despite losing four players this year, they will have eight returning from the fifth grade.
“They just dominated and we’re proud of them,” added Mendiola.
