Kagman Elementary School came from behind and outran William S. Reyes Elementary School, 6-5 for the second boys title.
“The Marlins batted first but were not successful,” said Kagman’s coach Hellena Jebehn in an email to Marianas Variety.
The Kingfishers jumped ahead with an early five runs but faltered, as the Marlins tied the game, 5-5 by the bottom of the fourth.
Kagman Elementary bagged its winning run in the fifth inning.
“They did their best to once again take home the championship title,” said Jebehn.
Coaching alongside her were Frank Arurang, Constancio Miday, and Maria Attao.
As this year’s interscholastic softball coordinator, Jebehn wanted to thank John Terlaje for serving as this year’s umpire.
“We would like to thank all coaches and players along with their parents for their continued support for all the interscholastic events for this year. We would also like to thank the administrators for their support,” she added.
Meanwhile, Koblerville Elementary School won the girls championship in an earlier game.
