Jian Zhong Yang, 41, is expected to be released from Big Spring Correctional Institution in Texas on Oct. 6, 2011.
In his letter to former Chief Judge Alex R. Munson, who handed down the prison term, Jian Zhong Yang is requesting the release of his seized passport to the U.S. Immigration Court in Dallas, Texas, or to his case manager.
Jian Zhong Yang wanted his removal proceedings after serving his jail sentence to proceed “without delay.”
“I don’t want to add any other burden to the United States government anymore,” Jian Zhong Yang told Munson in a letter dated May 4, 2011, and was received by the U.S. District Court for the NMI on June 13, 2011.
In June 2007, Jian Zhong Yang pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute a controlled substance.
