Sources confirmed that the U.S. Marshals Service office has conducted an “internal investigation” on the matter.
If a complaint is accepted for an investigation, an impartial probe will be conducted, according to the U.S. Marshals Service website regarding its investigations on security threats against an officer of the court.
The U.S. Marshals Service will ensure that it is a thorough and fair investigation, the website added.
Variety learned that the EEO violation occurred sometime in 2007.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office was informed about the incident, Variety was told.
McCallum made an informal complaint in April 2010, and a formal complaint in July 2010.
McCallum declined to comment on the complaint and the assault case against FBI special agent Sharon Huber.
Sources said Huber drew her weapon at McCallum on April 21.
In an email to Variety, U.S. Attorney’s Office public information officer Salome Blas said, “The U.S. Attorney’s Office has been and is in communication with the FBI an the CNMI Attorney General’s Office. We have been informed an investigation is ongoing. We are unable to comment further.”
Other concerned individuals have yet to issue a formal statement on the two incidents.
