CNMI Military and Veterans Affairs Executive Director Ruth Coleman said the Pacific Winds Concert Band will perform pre-ceremonial music at 8:30 a.m.
“We invite everybody to join us today as America undertakes its solemn duty to remember the sacred list of brave Americans who have sacrificed their lives for the cause of freedom and the security of the nation,” Coleman said.
Last Wednesday, Lt. Gov. Eloy S. Inos signed a proclamation declaring May 25-31, 2011 as Memorial Week.
Today’s keynote speaker will be Brig. Gen. John W. Doucette, commander, 36th Wing Anderson Air Force Base, Guam and deputy commander of Joint Region Marianas.
Coleman said there will be a B-52 flyover from the 36th Wing, Andersen Air Force Guam.
Coleman is also urging the community to observe a moment of silence at 3 p.m. tomorrow to pay tribute to all the fallen servicemembers for their unselfish and dedicated service in defending the country.
