SCC will host workshops specifically designed for public and private graduating high school seniors at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Facility in Susupe, Saipan this Saturday, April 30, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and opening activities commence at 8 a.m.
The workshop sessions include:
1. What’s Next After High School (A Look at Careers)
2. I Have to Live on That? (Personal Budgeting)
3. Oh No, I Have an Interview, Now What? (Resume Writing and Interviews)
4. I Can’t Come to Work Today (Balancing Work and Family Expectations)
5. I’m Not Sure What to Say (Communication Skills for Success)
6. Program Assessment and Lunch with Chamber Members
7. Certificates of Completion and Dismissal
SCC also reminds all interested college-bound high school graduating students, public and private, of the chamber’s annual scholarship awards for those needing financial assistance.
SCC awards five $2,000 scholarships through SCC’s Educational Scholarship Fund. The deadline for submission of applications is Friday, May 6. Awards will be presented at the June 1 SCC general membership meeting.
SCC Education Committee Chairwoman Kanae Quinn stated scholarships are awarded by virtue of academic excellence, extracurricular success, leadership force and service learning.
Brennan stated, “SCC continues to serve itself best by assisting local students to become active, competent and educated members of our business community. It’s also a part of our own commitment to the community in which we partner for everyone’s benefit.”
