The tournament is scheduled for Saturday, April 30 at the Saipan Laolao Bay Golf and Resort’s West Course.
The first place winner for each flight will receive $500 and a round trip airfare ticket to anywhere the Continental Airlines flies in Asia and Micronesia. The second place winner will receive $300, and players placing third in each category will win $200. There are six flight categories: men’s championship, A, B, C, ladies, and seniors.
In addition to the flight prizes, there are special prizes for lucky golfers who land a hole-in-one shot. For Hole No. 13, the prize is $25,000, sponsored by AON Insurance. For Hole No. 17, the prize is a 2011 Hyundai Tucson GL sponsored by Triple J Motors.
There will also be raffle-drawing prizes such as $2,500 in products and services from Docomo, a package from Hyatt Regency Saipan that includes one night stay, dinner, and lunch, and a round trip ticket donated by Continental Airlines.
The 9th Annual Foundation Open Golf Tournament is organized by the NMC Foundation, a non-profit organization composed of community volunteers committed to elevating higher educational opportunities for CNMI students. All proceeds from the tournament will be used to support NMC’s educational programs and services.
The NMC Foundation is encouraging all golfers to come and play for a good cause.
“The NMC Foundation Open promises to be an exciting and fun tournament, and I encourage all golfers to come out and play for a great cause,” said NMC Foundation president Ben Babauta.
The tournament, which will follow a medal play format, has a show time of 6 a.m. and a shotgun start at 7 a.m.
