All team players and coaches are highly urged to attend this final meeting to finalize the line-up during the opening ceremony and debut games.
“We have decided to move the opening ceremony to May 7. The tournament was originally scheduled to kick off this Saturday but we want to give all teams ample time to acquire team uniforms,” said league coordinator Rey Perez in an interview with the Marianas Variety.
All teams are now required to wear their team uniforms during the opening games and all QQ basketball games or be subjected to penalties.
“Today’s meeting will be very important because we will be finalizing the game schedules, rosters, line-ups, and what time the opening ceremony will take place along with the debut games. We need everyone at the Hard Rock tonight so that when we make these decisions no one will be left behind or become confused as the tournament opens,” Perez further explained.
The coordinators of the QQ basketball tournament have set the cap at eight participating teams; a revision to the original nine teams that signed up.
The eight teams include: Team Mobil, Ferrera Builders, team Konflikt, theSmart Cagers, team Blue Hauz, team Rollers A, team Rollers B, and the Sonics.
Team Docomo Pacific roared past the Ferrera Builders in the league’s first season’s championship round last November by seven points, 90-83. The latter has confirmed their entrance in the league as of press time yesterday.
Competitions will be held at the Garapan Basketball Court with the schedules still pending until tonight. Last season the league ran two games every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday night beginning at 6 pm.
