Event organizers Shawna Evangelista and Elsa Nieto said six of the contestants are from Saipan, one from Tinian and one from Guam.
“We have more participants who registered but some of them did not show up,” Nieto said.
Part of the proceeds from the contest will go to local servicemembers, particularly the CNMI Operation HomeFront Support.
The contestants are “Dayanara” representing Sariguan, “Proslee La’Hore” who will represent Alamagan, “Milkshake” who will represent Rota, Tammy Torres who will represent Anatahan, “Anne” who will represent Saipan, “Madriana La Croix” who will represent Maug, Payne Evangelista who will represent Tinian, and Trinity Hufana who will represent Guam.
The contestants will compete in the fantasy costumes, lingerie presentation and evening gown categories.
The awards to be given include the 2011 Queen Marianas Gay title, first runner-up, princess, Miss Photogenic and other minor awards.
Nieto said the talent show will be held on May 14 at the Hard Rock Café in Garapan.
“The show will start at 9 p.m. but it is for audiences 18 years old and above only,” she said.
Ticket is $20 inclusive of one drink. Ticket for the search proper and coronation night is $25 inclusive of one free cocktail. Supporters who will buy tickets in advance can get it at a discounted price of $40 for the talent show and the coronation night.
“We are seeking the support of the community for our show because we will be helping our troops who are risking their lives to protect our nation,” the organizers said.
