Jeremy Lizama went 2-for-5 with two runs and the Survivors executed a four-run sixth inning to topple the Natibu Sports Association Tanapag Falcons, 14-12 yesterday at the Francisco ‘Tan Ko’ Palacios Baseball Field.
The Falcons – behind, 10-6 at the top of the sixth, secured a tie on Ian Norita’s two-run triple and two wild pitches.
Center fielder Fermin Renguul lifted the Survivors with an RBI double, driving Paul Celis to home plate. Both Renguul and James Kintaro landed two more runs on Lieto’s wild pitches. Jose Lizama delivered a run-scoring single to tally the Survivors’ final run of the night.
Two outs into the top of the seventh and behind by four runs, catcher Frankie Norita hit a hard triple to left field, sending both him and Lieto home.
Jose Lizama struck out Ian Norita to finish the game. Survivors’ third baseman PJ Sablan tallied three runs while Celis and Kintaro scored two runs each.
Falcons’ starting pitcher MJ Sakisat posted two RBI singles at the top of the first and James Phillips scored an RBI from the third inning.
Ol’ Aces 10, Lions 8
The Ol’ Aces will be playing another semifinal match today against the top seeded IT&E Fielders.
They took on the Tan Siu Lin Foundation-Rep. Fred Deleon Guerrero-Rep. Ramon S. Basa Kagman Lions on Sunday’s tiebreaker game, winning, 10-8.
Ol’ Aces short stop Mike Muna went 2-for-4 with two singles, two runs, and one stolen base. Right fielder JP Taitano stole bases to put the team six runs ahead at the top of the seventh.
Lions’ starting pitcher Justin Santos struck two RBI singles at the bottom of the frame, hoping to catch up. Cedric Ada drove Santos in with a triple and returned home via wild pitch.
Ol’ Aces’ Kenji Yamagata landed a run-scoring single earlier at the top of the fifth, along with Peyton Lizama’s RBI single. Muna, Oscar Stefano, and Jesse Brel tallied two runs apiece. Catcher Verlance Secharmidal, Zack Yamagishi, Taitano, and Terson Eina scored one run each.
Brel struck out six and walked two in the first six innings.
The junior division’s finals will be played next Saturday, May 7.
