YSPSC said it has to cope with the recent increase in fuel cost.
The surcharge is temporary, and will be lifted when fuel cost has decreased to a level affordable under the electricity base rate, or when the electricity tariff has been appropriately restructured to adequately deal with both the rise and fall of fuel cost.
