PTC pummels Hot Shots for 2nd win

PTC dominated, 78-69 to win their second game of the 4th Annual Miller Lite Invitational Basketball Tournament at Gualo Rai court on Sunday.

Melvin Capalad led the pack with 20 points, scoring 15 in the first half and five in the second. Jerome Reyes mustered 15 points, Alex Lauron piled 13, and Bon Tamayo bagged 11.

PTC thrived on the Hot Shots’ missed baskets in the opening five minutes. Lauron hammered two jumpers and a free throw for his first five points.

Errol Peredo snuck only one basket for the Hot Shots, but recovered with 11 points late in the third quarter. He totaled 19, trailed by teammates G. Libuw (16), JR Barrios (13), and Mike Umali (9).

The Hot Shots narrowed the gap to seven points by the second half but still couldn’t catch up.

Zack Babauta landed one three-pointer, a layup, and two free throws to hand PTC seven points. Tudela and Art Trajano scored six and three, respectively.
