MP United upsets Shirley’s, 4-3 in women’s league

MP United needed only four goals in the first half to secure the match, with one goal from Julie Hall and two from Natalie Hill. Melody Matson scored the team’s second goal on a penalty kick.

Marianas High School student Jeraldine Castillo posted SFC’s first two goals and Marrielle Gariguez added a third point in the second half.

Angie Ito pulled off a couple steals, only to find Hill waiting in the sidelines.

MP United’s Nola Hix rallied minutes after but was stopped by Alexis Hofschneider three feet from the net.

With five minutes left in the first half, Matson and Hill cornered Lalaine Pagarao for the ball.

Meanwhile, Paire Football Club’s Patty Coleman, Roxie Lamar, and Priscilla Norman pummeled Matansa with a 3-0 win last Friday.
