CNMI Motheread coordinator Viola S. Deleon Guerrero said 255 signed up for the courses, 157 participated in the actual class sessions but only 106 participants completed the course.
Deleon Guerrero said each Motheread/Fatheread trainer in each site tailored their lesson plans to meet the social context of the adult participants at their sites.
Upon completion of the course requirements, most of the participants said they enjoyed the training sessions while acquiring literary strategies they can use for their children at their homes.
At the end of the training sessions, the training sites held dramatizations, group read-aloud, short plays, and other activities that shows the diverse composition and character of the participants in the program.
Deleon Guerrero said the Motheread/Fatheread trainers for this batch were from the last Motheread Institute held in October last year. These included Celina Romolor-Route, Lyzandra Barcinas, Rhea Chong, Debbie Canete, Amor Rabauliman, Beth Demapan, Wilma Atalig, Larry Manacop, Ma. Con San Nicolas, Nolyn Villagomez, Lilia King, Lourdes Cabrera, and Celina Foreman who facilitated the recently completed adult course sessions
Deleon Guerrero said sessions are also ongoing at Tinian Elementary School and at the Tinian Head StartCcenter under trainers Lou Connie Manglona, Evelyn Evangelista, Lorna Hofscneider, and Celina Farrell.
On Rota, Deleon Guerrero said the sessions are being conducted by Mary Lyn Ogo, Geri Dela Cruz, Joan San Nicolas and Barry Toves.
