The McREL teacher evaluation was a training that teachers are required to fully understand as it is the tool that the Public School System will be implementing this coming school year. More training will follow to ensure that this tool continues to be an evaluative tool for teachers and school administrators and are used accordingly to its purpose.
This evaluation system is a major standard that teachers need to adhere when they are evaluated by their respective principals and to make sure they make progress along the way through this process.
School principal Jonas Barcinas said Hopwood is grateful for the training because it gives the teachers a sense of understanding, ownership and transparency about the evaluative tool being approved by the Board of Education that will be used this coming school year.
He said this very comprehensive tool will bring about open and healthy discussion between the teacher and principal after evaluation and would eventually create and build a strong sense of personal and professional development through the outcome and the process of each evaluation.
This will also help teachers and principals to grow from this process and will provide quality education and support for the students.
This tool is designed by McREL which is created to help principals easily use the computer-based evaluation to help teachers grow through healthy pre- and post-conferences to establish and make final decisions on the evaluations that take place throughout the school year.
