Both Big League teams tied at two runs each to push the game an extra inning. Northern Starz’ lead-off batter Isiah Lizama struck out, Tomas Camacho’s fly ball was caught Hustlers’ second baseman John Deleon Guerrero, and a liner from Josh Jones was caught by Tim Rabago at the top of the first inning.
Center fielder Jeremy Lizama and short stop McGarett Duenas also struck out before making a run for the Hustlers. After three strike outs, MacGary Scaliem pushed Nokki Saralu to the scoring position before Toby Fleming sent him to the home plate on a base on ball.
The Northern Starz responded with two runs at the top of the fourth inning. Joaquin Castro knocked in a two RBI single, sending Josh Jones and Eric Tenorio home to take the lead.
John Deleon Guerrero tied the game with a stolen base while Rabago and Scaliem struck out.
Josh Jones piled seven strike outs between the fifth and seventh innings before scoring one run at the top of the eighth, thanks to a double from Castro. Isiah Lizama and Camacho both added extra runs to give their team the edge.
An error by Dave Jones and a stolen base helped Manny Flores and Nokki Saralu score runs for the Hustlers. Irvin Saralu was struck out by pitcher Dave Jones, putting the game in favor of the Starz.
