The “Manamko’ Amazing Talent Show” includes stand-up comedy, musical and dance performances, he said.
It will be held at the multi-purpose center from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on May 13.
Manglona said the event is in line with Older Americans Month celebration.
“Older Americans Month is an occasion to show appreciation for and support to our seniors as they continue to enrich and strengthen our community,” he said, as he urged the public to support the fundraising event.
This year’s theme is “Older Americans: Connecting the Community.”
The theme emphasizes “paying homage to the many ways in which older adults bring inspiration and continuity to the fabric of our community, and highlights how technology is helping older Americans live longer, healthier and more engaged lives,” he said.
Today, he added, manamko’ will start selling tickets at the center at $10 each.
Manglona, the director and producer of the show, said they will come up with unique, never-before-seen performances.
Among the stand-up comedians are Joe Torres and Frank Reyes.
Manglona, who conducts music and dance classes at the center, said most of the congregates will participate in the show.
He said the search for the 2011 Manamko’ King and Queen has more candidates this year compared to the previous years when there were only three or four.
This year there are five candidates for king: Jess Pangelinan, Jose I. Torres, Manuel Mesa, Robert Dela Cruz and Carlito Hernandez.
The candidates for queen are Sia Muna, Maryalen Conrad, Terry Sitae, Hermane Faisao, Pacita Angeles, Isabel Bodiogay and Emerenciane Reyes.
Tickets are sold at $1 each.
The coronation ball is scheduled for May 27 while the raffle draw for the grand prize of $500, the baby grand prize of $250 and other consolation prizes will be on June 1.
