Sablan survived the grueling competition between 55 other golfers to come out in first place after netting a 70. Closely tailing Sablan was Jess Wabol with a 70.4 and last but not least came Freddy San Nicolas.
Overall, more than 50 golfers graced the tournament and the league directors were able to raise $5,000 which will be presented to Father Ryan sometime this week at the Diocese of Chalan Kanoa.
“Overall, it was a very successful event and a very good turnout of players,” said league coordinator Ben Babauta. “The golf community members showed their support and had admiration for Father Manny,” Babauta added in an email to the Marianas Variety.
Manny Alvarez bagged the top cash prize of $300. A brand-new Harley Davidson was up for grabs for anyone who could nail a hole-in-one courtesy given to American Iron Horse/Island Equipment Rental as well as $5,000 in cash powered by Traders Insurance Corporation.
