Late-game surge lifts Fielders over Red Sox

The Red Sox grabbed a 0-2 lead at the top of the first, but lost momentum one out into the bottom of the fifth, resulting in a 10-3 loss.

Catcher Gayvon Uchau took advantage of an error and reached home plate for the Fielders’ first run of the morning. Ian Rogolifoi followed with a sacrifice bat, sending Jack Espinosa home. Kai Wanket handed the team a 3-2 lead via balk, and Khobby Kaipat delivered a run-scoring single to continue the Fielders’ scoring streak.

The game wasn’t over, as the Red Sox fell behind seven more runs at the bottom of the sixth inning.

Short stop Davin Ada went 2-for-4, landing two runs, one single, one double, and two stolen bases. Both Uchau and Espinosa gathered two runs apiece. Rogolifoi, Kaipat, Wanket, and Miko Gabionza each added one run.

Pitcher Keene Guerrero struck out six, allowing two hits.

Survivors 11, Falcons 7

The Martha Retail Store-BTS Program Survivors scored 11-7 to down the Natibu Sports Association Tanapag Falcons in another game.

Behind 0-2, the Survivors recovered with seven runs at the bottom of the second inning. Right fielder Jared Ayuyu hit an RBI single while Esiah Cruz returned to home plate on a hit-by-pitch. Jesus Santos, James Kintaro, and Philip Sablan each scored runs on multiple errors.

A weakened offense gave the Falcons only one run at the top of the third, thanks to Darion Jones’ run-scoring single.

Survivors’ starting pitcher Jeffrey Lizama went 3-for-3 with two runs, three singles, and four stolen bases. Santos delivered an infield home run at the bottom of the sixth, earning three runs in total.

Jeremy and Jose Lizama piled 10 strikeouts throughout the game.
