PRECINCT 2 Reps. John Paul P. Sablan and Danny I. Aquino last week led the cleanup of Chalan Kanoa Cemetery in preparation for All Saints Day on Nov. 1.

In an interview, Aquino said he and Sablan worked together to maintain the cemetery at the back of Mount Carmel Cathedral. The initiative included bush cutting, debris removal, and general groundskeeping.

“All Saints Day holds deep cultural and spiritual significance for our community. We take pride in ensuring that our cemeteries are cared for and that families have a clean and peaceful place to honor their loved ones,” Aquino said.

For his part, Sablan commended the staffers of his and Aquino’s offices for their dedication and teamwork throughout the cleanup effort.

“We are grateful to our hardworking staff for their commitment to keeping our community spaces clean and in good condition. Their efforts reflect the spirit of service and respect that All Saints Day represents,” he said.

“Through their efforts, the grass cutting on the graves should be done by Monday, and debris removal should start on Wednesday,” he added.

Aquino said the cemetery cleanup is part of their ongoing efforts to maintain public spaces and support community events across the district. He added that he and Sablan have been working together on other community projects, including grounds maintenance for Mount Carmel School and the monthly village beautification project.

Furthermore, they will be assisting officials at William S. Reyes Elementary School with debris removal and grounds maintenance.
