
(Office of Planning and Development) — The Inter-Island Solid Waste Management Task Force invites the community to attend upcoming public hearings to learn more about and share their thoughts on the latest update to the draft CNMI Comprehensive Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan.
Hearing dates, times, and venues are as follows:
• Rota: Monday, May 19, 2025, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Rota Mayor’s Social Hall
• Tinian: Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Tinian Public Library
• Saipan: Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the American Memorial Park Visitors Center Theater
The CISWMP charts a sustainable path forward for the CNMI’s solid waste, spanning the development, operations, and maintenance of compliant landfilling, recycling, and composting facilities for Saipan, Tinian, Rota, and the Northern Islands. It includes supporting activities such as education and outreach, conservation, and more.
