SAIPAN Southern High School, notched their first win of the season in the girls high school division of the PSS-NMIFA Interscholastic Soccer League SY24-25 after overpowering Kagman High School’s varsity team, 9-2 at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Tuesday last week.
The first 10 minutes of the opening half were filled with back-and-forth action between both teams.
After settling in, SSHS began to control the pace with relentless pressure on both ends of the field. The onslaught started in the 14th minute when Jahsmin Ramon drew first blood, followed by Rosie Saralu, who completed a hat-trick with four consecutive goals in the 16th, 18th, 21st, and 25th minutes, giving SSHS a 5-0 lead.
Although Pia Ngewakl broke KHS V’s silence in the 30th minute Ramon scored a minute later to maintain a comfortable distance going into halftime, 6-1.
SSHS continued their dominance in the second half, adding three more goals, while KHS V managed only a single goal before accepting defeat, 9-2.

Saipan International School remains the team to beat with a 3-0 win-loss record after silencing Marianas High School’s junior varsity team, 12-0, and MHS V, 6-0.
KHS JV earned their first win of the season against MHS JV, 5-2.
