Citing his family’s ties to the CNMI Republican Party, Sen. Manny Castro said, “It wasn’t a big secret from the beginning when I first ran that I was more of a conservative. The decision was easy. It came naturally. A lot of the values were always there. I believe that a smaller government and a larger private sector lead to a better economy.” Castro was elected to the Senate in 2024.
