THE Dodgers have yet to taste defeat in the 2024 SBL Masters League as they earned their fifth consecutive win of the season by bringing down the Falcons, 10-6, at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field in Susupe on Thursday last week.

The Dodgers swung for the fences right from the start with seven runs scored in the opening inning.

After handing the Falcons three straight outs highlighted by two pickoffs and a strikeout, the Dodgers went on a rampage.  Derek Aguon hit an RBI double that brought in first at bat Geoffrey Cruz. Aguon then rounded the bases thanks to an RBI single by teammate Glenn Camacho. The Dodgers added two more runs due to the Falcons’ errors.

Before the Falcons could stop the bleeding, the Dodgers squeezed in three additional runs to end the first inning with a 7-0 lead.

In the next four innings, the Falcons managed to gain their footing and showcase proper defensive coverage. On the offensive end, the Falcons scored off an error in the top of the second inning. Joe San Nicolas then kept the momentum burning with an RBI double, later reaching home base off an error to cut the Dodgers’ lead, 3-7.

In the fourth inning, the Dodgers disposed of the Falcons with three consecutive outs to put a stop to the rally. But the Falcons took flight once more in the following inning with three runs scored to get back within reach, 6-7.

However, the Falcons failed to stay efficient on the defensive end, allowing the Dodgers to score three runs in the bottom of the sixth to retain the upper hand, 10-6.

The Falcons were on the verge of extending the game with runners on first and second base, but the Dodgers secured the three outs needed to clinch the win.
