FIGHT fans will have their fill this Saturday during the Cage of Fire, which will highlight 21 MMA bouts at the Garapan Roundhouse.
Cuki Alvarez and Trench Tech brought back combat sports in December last year with the Ring of Fire event. This year, Alvarez said, “is the first time in almost six years that we are finally using the octagon again and having MMA matches.”
When asked what bouts fans should look forward to the most, Alvarez responded, “All of the bouts are guaranteed to be bangers! I personally love watching the prelim matchups! The first timers are always scrappy, which makes for exciting fights.”
He added, “Of course, all the Guam vs. Saipan bouts will be the ones to watch, especially the co-main and main events!”
This will be the first of many Cage of Fire events that will be held on island, Alvarez said. “As everyone knows, we first used the octagon in 2006 when we opened MMA here in the islands with our Rites of Passage and TrenchWarz events,” he added.
This Saturday, Cage of Fire will begin at 5 p.m. The fight card is as follows:
