MCS’ Caydince Masga connects a bump return as teammates look on during a game in the girls middle school division of the PSS-NMIVA Interscholastic Volleyball League SY24-25 at the Marianas High School gym.

MOUNT Carmel School outplayed Grace Christian Academy School in a girls middle school division game of the PSS-NMIVA Interscholastic Volleyball League SY24-25 at the Marianas High School gym on Thursday.

The MCS Knights relied on teamwork and set plays to score points as they executed their strategy well thanks to Caydince Masga, Adelle Kautz and Miana Dela Cruz, who orchestrated most of the setup and finishing touches of each possession.

The GCA Eagles fought back with countless returns, but the Knights’ coordinated assault allowed them to bag the first set, 26-16.

MCS rode the momentum into the second set as they quickly set the tempo with consistency and aggression. With each return, GCA struggled to keep the ball flying due to miscommunication, which resulted in poor defensive coverage.

MCS’ lead rose as they overwhelmed their opponents with endless assaults coming from every angle. With GCA unable to recuperate due to the pressure, MCS claimed the second set, 21-9.
