(JKPL) — Did you know that sound healing is a type of therapy? Sound healing uses sound vibrations to improve your health and overall well-being. On July 26, 2024 the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library hosted its very first sound bath healing session with Asia Camacho Hilario during a Sensory Night Program. The positive feedback from the community members who joined the session was so profound that Hilario held another session at JKPL on Aug. 30, 2024 which ended up being an even bigger success than the first!

Hilario is a business mindset coach, women empowerment podcaster, and holistic healer.

“We are deeply grateful to Asia for generously sharing her talents and expertise with our community,” JKPL said. “Sound Bath Healing has been shown to have a calming and balancing effect on the mind and body, making it a perfect addition to our Sensory Night program. Participants have notably mentioned enjoying the experience, and being excited about having the opportunity to do so. Others mentioned that the environment and ambience made it easy for their children to adjust. We are all very appreciative to Asia for bringing new healing modalities to the island to help her community heal holistically.”

The sound bath healing sessions took place at JKPL’s Children of Our Homeland, a.k.a. the Children’s Library. The session was based on a “first come, first served” basis, and accepted up to 30 families.

JKPL’s sensory night program takes place every Friday, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. For more information, call Celina Foreman or Sina Palacios at (670) 235-7315.
