BLACK 8 Shake N’ Break has taken control of the driver’s seat in the Thursday division of the SBA Budweiser Open 8-Ball League 2024 with 20 wins after defeating the Black 8 SCS Team, 9-4, at the Black 8 Pool Bar on Thursday.
Shake N’ Break’s Mei Rengiil clinched game 1 of the opening set of the Singles 8-Ball games by defeating SCS Team’s Toto Bigcas.
But SCS fired back with Bryan Fabre and Joseph Delos Reyes earning back-to-back victories. Shake N’ Break’s Randy Sablan then bagged the final round by outplaying Daniel Miranda with four balls left on the table to record the first deadlock of the night, 2-2.
Both teams were evenly matched in the one-on-one scene, but Shake N’ Break was able to gain the upper hand after Chris Camacho and Anson Smith bested Rowel “Cobra” Mariano and Bigcas,
Shake N’ Break’s John Reyes and Rengiil then outplayed Miranda and Fabre in the first set of the Partners 8-Ball games to take the lead, 4-2.
SCS’s Mariano tried to balance the scales in the second set of Singles 8-Ball games as he claimed game 1 by edging Camacho.
However, Shake N’ Break’s Sablan, Rengiil, and Smith pulled a 3-1 run to strengthen their team’s chances of victory, 7-3.
SCS continued to put up a fight by splitting the second set of the Partners 8-Ball games, but this only delayed the inevitable as only a single game of Partners 8-Ball game was left, and it was claimed by Shake N’ Break’s Julian Reyes and Rengiil to seal the deal, 9-4.
