Picnic table with legs: A serious concern

(This is an attempt at satire to bring some levity to an otherwise serious concern of theft.)

WE showed up to work on Monday morning this week to find that our office picnic table had walked away over the weekend.  Upon review of our security camera recordings, we obtained footage of (among other things) a pair of legs walking off with an oversized picnic table draped over them.  Apparently, the table was tired of guarding the office and decided to abandon its post at approximately 6 a.m. on Sunday.  Interestingly, the picnic table also managed to coax a metal trash can from outside the office into leaving, mounted itself on top of a small, white sedan and drove off.

Police were notified and we are hoping to get the rest of the story about the mysterious picnic table with legs (see picture on this page) and the shiny trash can.  We only want what’s best for them both and wish for their safe return home.

In the meantime, if anybody happened to see or know anything about a solid picnic table straddling atop a small white sedan and going down Navy Hill in the early morning on Sunday, please call the OVR Office at (670) 322-6537/8 or contact us online at www.ovrgov.net or call the Department of Public Safety to let us know.

The Office of Vocational Rehabilitation was established to provide VR services for eligible individuals with disabilities, consistent with their strengths, resources, priorities, concerns, abilities, capabilities, interests, and informed choice, so that they may prepare for and engage in competitive integrated employment or supported employment and achieve economic self-sufficiency. To be eligible for the VR program, individuals must have a physical or mental impairment that results in a substantial impediment to employment, require and can benefit from VR services to achieve employment and maximize career goals.  In addition to serving individuals determined eligible for the VR program, OVR must also provide pre-employment transition services to students with disabilities who are potentially eligible for the VR program.
