Michelle Lin Sablan
GOVERNOR Arnold I. Palacios on Friday re-appointed businesswoman Michelle Lin Sablan of Saipan as Northern Marianas College regent.
If confirmed, she will serve another four-year term that will expire on May 29, 2028.
In his letter to Senate President Edith Deleon Guerrero, the governor said his re-appointment of Sablan follows the recommendation of the Regent Nominating Committee.
He said he and Lt.Gov. David M. Apatang are confident that Sablan is qualified and will be an asset to the board.
The governor added that Sablan’s confirmation by the Senate will allow the islands’ primary institution of post-secondary education to have the support necessary to provide high quality, affordable and accessible education programs and services for the people of the Commonwealth.
In his appointment letter to Sablan, the governor said he and the lt. governor have complete confidence in her unwavering commitment to serve the best interests of the CNMI people.
“We greatly appreciate your willingness to continue serving on this critical board, and we are confident that your time and efforts will be invaluable to our community,” the governor said.
