PalmTrio670 hosts the SoMe social media awards in February 2024.

THE comedy show “It’s Not That Serious, Par!” will be staged at the Saipan World Resort on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 6:30 p.m. according to Lloyd Lely, a member of local comedy group PalmTrio670.

Lely and partners Jefferson Mateo and Louvicki Camacho have been entertaining their fans with comedic skits for years now. Back in February, they hosted the island’s first social media awards, the SoMe Awards.

This August, Lely said they have their sights on continuing the laughs through “It’s Not That Serious, Par!”

“PalmTrio’s mission has always been to spread joy and bring smiles, and with everything the community has been going through, we felt like we all need to come together and take a dose of the best medicine — laughter,” he told Variety in an interview.

The evening will be a mix of stand-up comedy, skits and “a few surprises” Lely said.

The current lineup includes PalmTrio670, Zoritalks, Chinaman, and NettyCee.

Lely said an off-island comedy talent is also coming to Saipan to perform at the event.

“We wanted to get the best of the best local comedians, both on and off screen, to help us share that common mission,” Lely said. “Like ZoriTalks says, ‘All positive vibes.’ ”

Tickets cost $30 each and can be purchased at Tupu Cane Juice in Garapan. They can also be purchased by calling (670) 483-5693 or sending a message to @palmtrio670 on Instagram.

“Don’t take anything too seriously because it’s all in good fun,” Lely said. “We want people to come and enjoy and have a great time with us.”
