Kosuke Sato celebrates as he finishes first overall in last year’s Run Saipan 3rd Annual 4th of July Independence Day 2-Mile Run at Garapan Fishing Base.
RUN Saipan’s 4th Annual Independence Day Race will be held Thursday morning, July 4, with the start/finish line at American Memorial Park.
Sponsored by Latte Built Fitness, the Northern Marianas Athletics-sanctioned race will see participants running, jogging, or walking for two miles before hitting the beach or the parade grounds.
Participants will take off at the flag side of American Memorial Park and proceed to Winner’s Gas on Marine Drive before heading back to the park. The race route follows a course inspired by the U.S. Army Physical Fitness Test.
Check in time will start at 4:45 a.m. and ends at 5:45 a.m. A race briefing will follow, and then a five-minute warning. The race will start at 6 a.m.
Last year, Kosuke Sato led the men’s division with a time of 00:12:2 while Rosemarie Chisato claimed the women’s division with a time of 00:15:5.
“Thank you to Latte Built for continuing this sponsorship that we started in 2021,” Run Saipan President Edward Dela Cruz Jr. said. “Thank you to [Latte Built owner] Derek Cutting for believing in us and keeping this great event. It’s been a long four years and I’m very happy we can continue this partnership with Latte Built.”
