Two Fraternal Order of Eagles officials visit Saipan

TWO Fraternal Order of Eagles officials, Angelito “Jing” Cadiz and Augusto “Jhun” Cadiz Jr., are on island to conduct an induction ceremony for the officers and new members of the Saipan Magalahi Eagles Club and the Saipan Maga’haga Lady Eagles. The event will be held at the Fiesta Hall of Grandvrio on Saturday, May 25 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Jhun Cadiz Jr., the Eagles’ secretary general, and Jing Cadiz, a past national president, are here to represent their current president, Edmarcil S. Simene.

“The Fraternal Order of Eagles is an organization that aims to serve the community,” Jing Cadiz said. “On Saipan, the Eagles have provided community service by adopting a basketball court, fixing a school bus stop shelter, among other things. We live up to our motto, which is ‘Service through strong brotherhood.’ We want to be of service to the community, especially to the less fortunate,” Jing Cadiz added.

He said the Eagles have chapters all over the world, including in France, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Malta, Cambodia and other countries.

He noted that the Saipan chapter is “very active, and communicating well with our main office [in the Philippines]. As much as possible, we want them to implement as many projects as they could, and to continue their good work and service.”

He added, “This is our first time on Saipan, and we are impressed with how beautiful the island is.”

According to Carlito J. Marquez, the Saipan Magalahi Eagles Club press relations officer, the Saipan chapter was chartered in March 2021 while the Lady Eagles’ group was organized in 2022 under the SMEC charter.

As for the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Philippine Eagle, he said, is a socio-civic organization that was founded in the Philippines in 1979.

Marquez said the guest of honor and speaker of this year’s induction ceremony is engineer Ruel R. Villacrusis, president and CEO of RNV Construction, who has sponsored five scholars under the Saipan Eagles’ scholarship program.

Marquez said during the past three years, the Saipan Eagles participated in the July 4th Liberation Day Parade, conducted a relief drive for Rota’s typhoon victims, and have rehabilitated and restored the Gualo Rai basketball court through the Adopt-A-Place Project of the Saipan Mayor’s Office.

The Saipan Eagles have also sponsored a basketball league, provided free haircuts to school children 5 to 7 years old, conducted a youth basketball clinic, and hosted a gift-giving event and Christmas dinner for the less fortunate, Marquez said.

In addition, they repaired and renovated Bus Stop #67 in Koblerville, participated in various community events, and has been a consistent donor to the Eagles’ relief projects, he said.

On May 18, 2024, Marquez said they launched a scholarship program for five deserving, talented but less fortunate students at General Emilio Aguinaldo National High School in Cavite, the Philippines.
