THE girls of Kanoa Football Club celebrated with their male counterparts after beating MP United Football Club, 8-2, to claim the U17 girls division title of the TakeCare Youth Soccer League Spring 2024 at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville on Saturday.

It was MPU that drew first blood with Addalee Taflinger executing a quick shot that slipped past defenders and goalie alike to take the lead, 1-0, after just one minute of play.

KNFC, however, returned the favor with three consecutive goals courtesy of Aubrey White at the 19th minute mark, Ye Lynn Ha at the 23rd, and Beatrice Gross at the 26th, to establish control, 3-1.

A minute later, MPU answered with a solo goal by Cassie Regan to cut the lead 2-3. But KNFC quickly doused any chance of a spark as White returned to the scoreboard  with her second goal of the day, allowing KNFC to remain at a safe distance, 4-2.

In the second half, MPU failed to score amid the constant pressure on both ends of the field.

KFNC, for their part, went on a scoring spree. White started the onslaught with her third goal at the 36th minute mark to complete a hat-trick while teammate Elikristiana Iglecias scored two minutes later. Like White, Gross performed a hat-trick with back-to-back goals at the 50th and 53rd minute marks en route to victory, 8-2.

Joining the winner’s circle was Paire Football Club which routed Shirley’s Football Club, 10-1.
