NMTech mid-spring registration deadline approaching

THE Northern Marianas Technical Institute’s mid-spring cycle registration deadline is on April 10, NMTech Chief Executive Officer Jodina Attao said. 

 The CORE Fundamentals, Welding level 1, Cosmetology, and Baking and Pastry classes will start on April 15. 

The CORE Fundamentals class is an introductory construction course that covers basic safety, introduction to construction math, introduction to hand tools, introduction to power tools, among other related subjects.

Classes are conducted Monday to Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The course ends on June 21.

Conducted on Monday and Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Welding level 1 focuses on welding safety, oxyfuel cutting, and plasma arc cutting, among other related subjects. The course will end in May 2025. 

Cosmetology courses are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and include lessons on safety and sanitation, basic training in general theory and practical application, hair styling and dressing. The classes will end on Dec. 6.

Baking and pastry classes are held on Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Students will learn about baking terminology, tool and equipment use, formula conversions, and more. Classes will end on Aug. 5.

NMTech offices will be closed from March 25-29 for spring break, and will resume normal business hours on April 1. Business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays. The office closes at noon for one hour.
