HAGÅTÑA — Today, Monday, amidst the support of the community and surrounded by the natural beauty of Guam, Frank “The Crank” Camacho and running-mate Cuki Alvarez officially announced their entrance into the 2026 gubernatorial race. With a shared vision of a revitalized and resilient Guam, the Camacho-Alvarez ticket is set to bring fresh, unfiltered energy into the island’s political landscape.
Camacho, a former UFC fighter and successful entrepreneur, alongside Alvarez, a community leader and acclaimed MMA/Motocross/Extreme Sports figure, are joining forces to tackle Guam’s most pressing issues: the soaring cost of living, housing affordability, crime and the need for greater support for small businesses. “It’s time to cut through the bureaucracy and bring sharp solutions to our island,” Camacho stated, emphasizing the campaign’s commitment to transparency, innovation, and integrity.
Bringing real-world experience to Guam’s challenges
Unlike traditional political figures, Camacho and Alvarez bring a wealth of real-world experience and a fighter’s mentality to the table. From running CRANK SHINARP SHARPENING SERVICES and designing top-tier knives to leading community initiatives and advocating for youth empowerment, their diverse backgrounds are united by a common goal: to enhance the quality of life for every resident of Guam.
A vision for a SHINARP Guam
The campaign’s slogan, “Make the Marianas SHINARP Again,” reflects a comprehensive platform focused on reducing the cost of living, enhancing public safety, and empowering the local economy. “Our strategy is straightforward: Cut taxes, cut housing costs, and cut your power bills in half. We’re not just talking about change; we’re sharpening our focus to implement it,” Alvarez added, highlighting the campaign’s dedication to actionable policies.
Engaging the community and embracing innovation
Understanding the importance of community engagement, Camacho and Alvarez plan to leverage digital platforms and grassroots efforts to connect with voters. They aim to transform political dialogue on the island by encouraging open, honest conversations about the path forward for Guam.
When asked to give closing comments, Alvarez added, “Yanggen kumontra hami na dos, guahu yan si Frang, bai in na’ siguru na’ ma’ rebåha’ todo i gåsto siha ya ta na påra todo i kuropsion! Bai in CHACHÅK, bai in TITIK ya bai in U’TOT todu i BS gi hålom Liheslatura’ sa mampos esta chura! ‘BS’ nei kumeke ilek-ña ‘BISTEAK,’ sa kulan parehu sound-ña yan ‘MISTAKE,’ sa to’du esta i Tåotåo Guåhan nei, gi FINU INGLIS — “THEY’RE MAKING A BIG MISTAKE” with this current Government. $!@%^&!” (“If anyone runs against us, Frank and I, we assure that will cut down on spending and put an end to corruption. We will CUT, TEAR, and REMOVE all the BS in the Legislature because it’s gotten too ugly already. ‘BS’ stands for ‘BISTEK’ because it rhymes with ‘MISTAKE,’ because people of Guam, ‘THEY’RE MAKING A BIG MISTAKE’ with this current government. $!@%^&!”)
