POLICE said a general cashier of Dai-Ichi Hotel went to the Department of Public Safety on Monday and confessed she stole a total of $12,000 from the hotel.
Sepe Kun Arriola, 20, was held for theft and theft by unlawful taking.
Acting DPS spokeswoman Rose Ada yesterday said Arriola revealed to the police that she stole money from Dai-Ichi over the past few months.
Ada said after an investigator took her statement, Arriola was placed under arrest.
The defendant said she was short of $500 so she started taking money from the change funds to replace the amount.
“But the amount was getting bigger and bigger so she decided to disclose it to the police,” Ada said.
In other news, two government vehicles were involved in two vehicular accidents on Monday and Friday.
The drivers of the government vehicles were found not at fault and were not injured, police said.
Ada said the Municipal Council’s four-door 1995 Hyundai car was struck by a pick-up truck that backed up on the highway in San Antonio on Monday.
